Calculation software at the heart of electric mobility
ELEC CALC™ IRVE: A CALCULATION SOFTWARE AT THE HEART OF ELECTRIC MOBILITY
elec calc™ IRVE is used to model and size any type of low-voltage installation and, more specifically, charging infrastructures for electric vehicles.
The software is dedicated to electrical designers and installers. It enables them to size electrical installations while helping them to enhance the expertise they need for such installations.

MODELLING AND SIZING CHARGING STATIONS WITH ELEC CALC™ IRVE
Remarkably user-friendly, the IntelliSense predictive interface of elec calc™ automatically proposes the logical sequence of its installation diagram to the designer. These intuitive and flexible drawing features make design ultra-fast with the software particularly easy to get to grips with.

REAL-TIME POWER BALANCE
The software enables the user to manage a power balance in real time. So, by modelling the entire installation and applying the expansion factors, it is easy to check whether the installation can supply these new EV receivers.

THE IMPORTANCE OF NORMATIVE CONTROLS
Recharging an electric vehicle requires a great deal of energy during potentially long periods of use, repeated on a daily basis. This can lead to the installation overheating if the equipment is not suitable. In the case of an existing electrical installation, checking is therefore essential. For each recharging point, you need to create a dedicated circuit protected by a circuit breaker and a differential current protection device.
The sizing of IRVEs is governed by international IEC 60364-7-722 standard (and specific standards depending on the country). It is necessary to know the characteristics of the power supply network at the point of connection in order to define and optimise the choice of protection according to its breaking capacity, and the type of differential protection according to the characteristics of the terminal installed.

In order to meet these regulatory and safety requirements for people and equipment, elec calc™ performs the following checks:
- The setting of the upstream thermal protection, even integrating safety coefficients in case of local standards require.
- The type of differential circuit breaker
- The presence of protection integrated into the terminal (e.g. 6mA leakage current detection…).
Once the software has validated the safety points, the installation complies with the safety criteria and applicable standards.
AN UP-TO-DATE DATABASE OF MANUFACTURER REFERENCES
elec calc™ integrates a multi-manufacturer database for all electrical components, including charging points. A dedicated team works in close collaboration with the various manufacturers, enriching the content of the databases on a daily basis to provide you with up-to-date product databases, saving you from having to manually enter all the characteristics required for calculation and control.
With elec calc™ IRVE, electricians can find all the functions they need to design the power supply and safety devices for chargepoints.
