Software technology in the era of COVID-19: our resilience and strength

Dears readers,

We hope you are and your beloved ones are in good health.

The coronavirus pandemic has fundamentally changed the way we live in just the last few months. To halt the spread of the virus, governments have imposed social-distancing measures and lockdowns. Also, millions of people have experienced fundamental changes in their lives. Many of us have been working from home. Email, chats, and video conferencing helped us to keep connected and feel strong together in this sad moment in history.

We are very fortunate to be in the market sector that enables us to continue our activities without any disruption.

We are proud of the contribution our technologies and services are making to the best of our ability. In all circumstances, good electrical installations and continuity of supply are essential, but now they are critical.

Our technologies and investments are demonstrating both their need and worth.

Like many other companies, TSI employees have been forced to adapt quickly to this new order and are still working remotely in some locations.

We are very proud to share that we maintain our investments and continue to increase the level of services offered. Despite the circumstances, we have entered the German market and will be celebrating the opening of our new office in Frankfurt this summer. We have also launched a free of charge version of archelios™ Pro. archelios™ Pro Free gives access to many of the powerful features of the software for the PV design and yield forecast. Besides we added three new archelios™ Pro versions: Silver, Gold, and Platinum, to ensure greater performances to increase productivity.

Let’s keep our spirits up

Trace Software International is excited to announce the launch of the newest editions of archelios™ Pro. These powerful software solutions come with features and benefits that add even more value and are tailored to the specific requirements of any PV project.

The newest and extended archelios™ Pro offer includes:

• archelios™ Pro Free: design projects up to 36 kWp

• archelios™ Pro Silver: project design up to 100 kWp

• archelios™ Pro Gold: project design up to 1 MWp

• archelios™ Pro Platinum: unlimited complex project dimensioning

Discover all the benefits of the newest archelios™ Pro range.

The FREE version of archelios™ Pro

The free version of archelios™ Pro gives users access to a wide range of powerful features to manage PV projects that do not exceed a power of 36 kWp. The software will provide a very precise calculation of the expected solar production, as well as the best site related option and the optimal configuration for the PV array to avoid losses in energy production.

Maximum safety is guaranteed as the software is provided with advanced functionalities that assist the user in the dimensioning and sizing of the inverters and the PV modules. Users can make more reliable choices in the selection of the electrical equipment, in a quicker time.

  • THE ELEC CALC™ DC MODULE

The DC module “Direct current” is an additional module of elec calc™. It allows the design and sizing of low voltage electrical installations in direct current, up to a voltage of 1500 VDC. Completely integrated into the elec calc™ software, it maintains all of its functionality and ergonomics and allows the creation of installations mixing DC and AC parts.

Being part of low voltage networks, the applicable electrical installation standards are identical to those of the AC networks, mainly those of the IEC 60364 series or their national versions. For the calculation of short-circuit currents, reference should be made to the series of standards IEC 61660.

  • WHICH ARE THE FACTORS THAT AFFECT SOLAR PANELS’ EFFICIENCY?

A solar cell or photovoltaic cell is a device that converts the sunlight into usable energy. The amount of sunlight that can be converted into electricity is referred to as solar cell efficiency. Some factors should be taken into consideration when opting for solar panels to guarantee their optimal efficiency. These are the temperature, energy conversion efficiency, solar shadings, orientation, inclination, the latitude of the place and climatic conditions, operation and monitoring, and maintenance.
