Extend elec calc to photovoltaic sizing

Download the BrochureContact us

The SOLAR module allows elec calc users to integrate photovoltaics directly into their electrical projects integrating all types of consumers and up to the complete sizing of the high voltage network.

It enriches elec calc to support the design and normative dimensioning of the direct current (DC) part of photovoltaic installations, in accordance with the IEC 60364-7-712 guide.

It allows you to integrate the photovoltaic installation directly into your elec calc projects and to naturally continue the electrical study with the rest of the AC electrical installation.

With this module, complete your electrical studies by integrating the sizing of photovoltaic installations within the same design environment.

Advanced modeling of photovoltaic installations
The SOLAR module introduces a complete range of photovoltaic components to accurately represent the DC architecture of the photovoltaic project.
Unlike tools based on predefined circuits, elec calc allows free modeling of the installation, in order to faithfully reflect the reality on the ground.
In particular, you can:
• Modeling PV Module Chains
• Configure UPS and MPPT Management
• Structure the electrical architecture of the project

This approach makes it possible to treat all types of installations: roofs, shades or ground-mounted power plants.
A complete vision of the electrical project
With the SOLAR module, elec calc makes it possible to manage the entire plant in a single project.
This means that the DC photovoltaic system can be integrated directly into the electrical design and connected to the AC system.
Depending on the version of elec calc used, the study can be extended beyond the HV transformer, offering a global vision of the electrical dimensioning of the project.
This approach makes it possible to integrate photovoltaic production into the site's electrical installation, from the photovoltaic panel to electrical uses such as charging stations and the various consumers thanks to the calculation of power flows.
The IEC 60364-7-712 guide integrated into the electrical study
Based on the elec calc calculation engine, the SOLAR module makes it possible to integrate photovoltaics with all the normative controls defined by the IEC 60364-7-712 guide in a complete electrical study and in particular:
• Voltage drop control
• Power flow analysis
• Calculating short-circuit currents
• Dimensioning of protections and cable cross-sections
• Lightning analysis with surge arrester management

These multi-source calculations make it possible to secure the overall size of the installation.
A database dedicated to photovoltaics
The SOLAR module includes a database dedicated to photovoltaic equipment with more than 12,000 specific references.
elec calc will automatically propose the optimal reference according to your preferences and the project's input data:
• Photovoltaic modules
• Photovoltaic inverters
• Associated equipment and direct current (DC) protection)
• Direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) surge protector protection
The technical characteristics are automatically integrated into the calculations in order to ensure all the normative controls to validate the dimensioning.
Continuity with archelios PRO
For archelios PRO users, the photovoltaic study can be imported directly into elec calc in order to retrieve the architecture of the installation.
This continuity makes it possible to move from the solar study to the electrical study without re-entry, and to continue the normative sizing in the same project without loss of data.
A solution recognized for its normative compliance
Associated with elec calc's calculation engine, recognized by the control offices and ELIE BT 2025 approved, it guarantees the reliability and compliance of electrical studies.

Why add the SOLAR module?

  • Integrate photovoltaics into your electrical studies
  • Dimension the DC part according to the IEC 60364-7-712 guide
  • Continue the electrical study to the transformer and beyond
  • Analyze power flows and voltage drops in your installation
  • Avoid re-entering software

Features

Extend your photovoltaic studies to high voltage

By combining the SOLAR module with an elec calc version (HT/BT, BIM, GRID):

  • Model and design HV substations
  • Integrate step-up transformers
  • Verify compliance according to IEC 61936-1 and IEC 60909
  • Manage the protection plan with digital relay settings

Assisted photovoltaic modelling

The SOLAR module adds a dedicated PV design logic to automatically structure PV components and secure the installation modelling.

Integrated PV power balance

Analyse in real time the power flows related to solar production and its uses (self-consumption, grid injection, EV charging) directly within your elec calc project.

Automated PV compliance checks

Activate PV-specific regulatory verifications (IEC 60364-7-712, IEC 60364). Discrepancies are identified instantly for accurate and controlled design.

Multi-manufacturer PV catalogue

Access a multi-manufacturer database dedicated to PV equipment, continuously updated and directly usable in your calculations.

Integrated deliverables

Automatically generate diagrams, bills of materials and calculation reports including the photovoltaic section, fully consistent with the overall electrical project file.

Compatibility with elec calc versions

The SOLAR module is integrated directly into elec calc and can be added to all software versions and thus enrich the usual working environment:
