Dear readers,
We are coming to the end of 2021, a great year for us marked by an acceleration in the management of electrical and photovoltaic installations.
Thanks to our investments in research and development, and our concern for innovation, our software solutions are essential to meet the current energy and economic challenges in the building and energy sectors.
Professionals are increasingly required to manage complex installations using mixing renewable sources with conventional sources. In addition to this, new consumer behaviour and regulations, linked to photovoltaic production or electromobility, have led to the emergence of new needs in terms of design of electrical installations. Many of our customers have recently chosen elec calc™ as this solution meets the requirements of EV charging stations installations and we thank them for that.
Thanks to the innovations launched in 2021 notably with elec calc™ and elec calc™ GRID, these professionals can fully enter the era of energy transition. But we are not stopping there because 2022 is already promising.
In 2022, electrical installations management will go even further with the deployment of QuickSchem™ and elec calc™ Reader, which we presented in our previous newsletters. BIM electrical design will be further simplified with new features of elec calc™ BIM already available in the software. New features are also coming in archelios™ Suite for photovoltaic installations. Finally, in 2022, our technology will be showcased at key events internationally.
Many challenges await us and our goal is to build, with and for our customers, the future of electrical calculation.
Trace Software wish you a very happy holiday season!
elec calc™ GRID software provides a complete solution for the simulation of all types of multi-source meshed networks, i.e. smart grid management. Discover the features of this new software.
Trace Software has just launched the new version of elec calc ™ BIM. The evolutions of this new version are mainly focused on the recovery of data from a Revit® digital model.
The different types of short-circuit currents are parameters to be taken into account in the electrical design. Depending on installation type, earthing system and the point in which a short-circuit may happen, we do not exactly know which one of them will be the most harmful. elec calc™ can calculate different types of short-circuit.
The annual yield of a photovoltaic system depends on many factors, not all of which are equally influential. The purpose of this article is to address some of the most important of these factors, from incident irradiation on the modules, to injection into the grid.
elec calc™ software calculates the maximum let-through energy on all the conductors and compares it to their thermal withstand value. This verification applies to the phases but also to the neutral and to the PE. If this condition is not met a thermal stress error is displayed on the cable. In the event of a thermal stress problem, it is always possible to oversize the cross-section of the conductors, thus increasing their admissible thermal stress. However, other possibilities can overcome this increase in section
A solar self-consumption installation uses the PV electricity generated on-site to meet the energy needs of the consumer while minimizing or excluding the use of electricity from the utility grid. As the energy is generated on site, transmission losses are kept at a minimum. It is an optimal choice for home or industry energy efficiency as it allows significant savings.
