BENTLEY RACEWAY AND CABLE MANAGEMENT CONNECTS TO ELEC CALC™, ELECTRICAL CALCULATION SOFTWARE

Partnership

10 September 2024

Bentley Systems and Trace Software International announce a partnership around their software solutions. Bentley Raceway and Cable Management and elec calc™ are now connected for network and cable tray design and calculation.

The interconnection between the network and cable tray design tool and Trace Software’s calculation solution enables not only the design of cable tray models, but also the integrated sizing of cables.

Bentley Raceway and Cable Management is a software solution to design and model complex raceway systems with 3D cable routing in one solution. The users can save time and reduce costs with an integrated application for raceway system layout, cable routing, and material estimating. elec calc™ is a software package that enables the calculation of low voltage and high voltage electrical installations in real-time, complying with various international standards.

Why did you choose Trace Software?

We are working together with Trace Software to fill a gap in the electrical design workflow and enabling users to calculate the required cable sizing.

How does it work?

Once the single-line diagrams are designed into elec calc™, the cable lists can be exported to Excel and imported into Bentley Raceway and Cable Management. After the equipment placement, raceway development and cable routing have been processed, the real cable lengths are imported back into elec calc™ to calculate and size the electrical installation accordingly. If needed, the process can be repeated.
