The Challenge
Nantong Enhron Air-Conditioning Manufacturing design department is divided into industrial and commercial air conditioners, each department contains many electrical engineers, who focus on electrical and control product research and development. Having introduced SolidWorks some years ago, a major issue was but 3D wiring and cabling, which is dependent on electrical DWG files created with AutoCAD.
The Solution
In April 2010 the company invested in seats of elecworks™ and elecworks™ for SolidWorks 3D Routing module, to replace AutoCAD as the main design tool. This has allowed the employment of all aspects of the electrical project data in SolidWorks. After using elecworks for a year, the engineers used elecworks™ to design the air-conditioners internal electrical system, define the arrangement of components, electrical circuit routing, training documentation, BOM etc.
