A new chapter has just begun

We have started the year with a big change. You might have heard about it. We have sold the 100% of the elecworks™ electrical and automation design software product line to Dassault Systèmes. For elecworks™ users, there will be no change as the OEM version of the software launched under the name of SOLIDWORKS Electrical in 2012 is equivalent.

Trace Software International is leaving the world of electrical schematics design behind. This decision was mainly taken to reinvigorate and focus our expertise in the development of software solutions for the electrical calculation and photovoltaic industries. In fact, just during the first trimester of this year, we have launched the latest versions of archelios™ Calc with a new self-consumption option, elec calc™ and elec calc™ BIM delivering enhanced performances. Furthermore, we will participate in the BIM World Paris. Once again, this confirms that innovation is firmly rooted in our DNA. Stay tuned!

To your success!

New In

The archelios™ suite is the software solution to manage the entirety of a wide range of PV projects such as rooftop photovoltaic installations, large solar power plants, grid-connected PV power or self-consumption systems.

The tool includes three main applications – archelios™ Pro, archelios™ Calc & archelios™ O&M–

to help professionals reaching the utmost precision and the greatest performance throughout all the phases of the PV project: feasibility study and 3D design, electrical sizing and compliance, execution and PV monitoring.

By delivering more powerful calculations and a higher level of detail, elec calc™ 2019 promises an enhanced performance for any electrical project, from the simplest to the most complex. elec calc™, the software for the sizing and the calculation of electrical installations, comes with the following newest features:

· Automatic backup setting. The user can adjust the backup interval in the options – parameters menu.

· Continuity between distributors. The continuity of the distributor is managed in the order of the pages. It automatically follows all the movements of the pages relative to each other.

· AWG cable management. This feature allows the user to choose, for each cable, to use the mm2 or AWG sections using the drop-down list in the quick entry area.

elec calc™ BIM is the software for sizing electrical installations within the BIM process. With elec calc™ BIM, professionals can manage the calculations on a digital model in IFC 4 format, generated by the various 3D architecture software (Revit, ArchiCAD, SketchUp…).

Among the latest features of the software:

· Improved navigation in the integrated 3D viewer.

Revit plug-in:

· Pre-configuration of the IFC export.

· Import in Revit the properties of the components that have been completed in elec calc™ BIM with a synchronization management function between elec calc™ BIM and Revit.

  • SOLAR SELF-CONSUMPTION SYSTEMS

Access to energy is at the heart of the economic development of any country. However, the need to switch to low carbon and renewable source of energy is nowadays not only a conscious choice but the only logical choice for the future. For many years, solar electricity was considered expensive in comparison to other sources of renewable or fossil-fueled energy.

Today, it is much more affordable. In fact, with declining investments cost, producing solar electricity for the purpose of self-consumption is on the rise. A solar self- consumption installation uses the PV electricity generated on-site to meet the energy needs of the consumer while minimizing or excluding the use of electricity from the utility grid.

  • TRACE SOFTWARE TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Any software purchasing process implies a certain time of critical reflection on several aspects: costs, ROI, usability, integration, and technical support just to name a few. Technical support is a fundamental factor that must be necessarily taken into consideration when buying an engineering software solution mainly for three relevant reasons. First of all, it comes to the learning process.

Furthermore, in case of an issue affecting the operational performance, it is important to count with experienced technical engineering support able to provide assistance in direct contact, with ease and comfort. Technical support is also a fundamental business unit for being the main point of contact with the customer.

Events

  • BIM World Paris

The value proposition of BIMWORLD Paris is to create relevant business synergies in between all the parties involved in the whole life-cycle of the building project. By convening different needs and professions (design, construction, operation, real estate, urban planning, sustainable development, and smart territories), it will be possible to analyze how BIM is driving the digital transformation of the entire building ecosystem.

BIM is a disruptive force which is establishing a new business model. It is changing the way buildings look, are built, and even function. To stay competitive, professionals are required to possess a new set of skills and tools. Trace Software International, the leader in developing advanced engineering solutions, confirms its participation in the BIMWORLD. The company will showcase elec calc™ BIM, the first software providing a seamless integration of the electrical calculations into the Open BIM process. Along 2 intensives days of the exhibition (2nd and 3rd April 2019), there will be world leaders and conferences highlighting good practices and trends. Discover the role of Trace Software in this event.
