The BGE Group relies on the archelios range to structure and make its photovoltaic activity more reliable
Installer
As a long-standing player in electrical engineering, the BGE Group has established itself as a reference partner in the tertiary and industrial sectors. In the midst of diversification, the company has added a major string to its bow: photovoltaics. To design, size and justify its solar projects, BGE relies on Trace Software’s archelios range : a combination of tools that allows it to combine technical rigor, consistency and profitability.
A fast-growing group, anchored in technical innovation
Founded in 1971, BGE has grown over the decades to become a recognized multidisciplinary group in the field of electrical engineering. The company works on high and low voltage, medium voltage, as well as on building management (BMS). Its evolution has been accompanied by a gradual diversification: in 2016, the creation of BG2AI, dedicated to industrial analysis, marks a first opening towards data and energy performance. In 2021, BG3E was born, specialising in the maintenance of inverters, a strategic activity for the reliability of installations. A year later, photovoltaics joined the group, before the integration in 2023 of an entity dedicated to plumbing, BG2GE, to complete a full range of skills around energy efficiency and sustainable building.
Today, the group combines HVA/LV electrical installation, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, industrial analysis, maintenance and now photovoltaic design, supporting its customers on key themes such as hypervision, or energy monitoring.
Structuring solar activity with the archelios range
It was in 2021 that BGE began its ramp-up in photovoltaics. To guarantee the credibility and accuracy of its studies, the group chose to equip itself with archelios PRO (with the SketchUp plugin and the K2 BASE gateway) and archelios CALC software.
Thanks to the complementarity of the software, the teams have a fluid design chain:
- archelios PRO enables 3D modeling and production analysis via SketchUp, while integrating orientation, shading, and structure constraints.
- archelios CALC then ensures the electrical dimensioning, regulatory compliance and the generation of control deliverables for commissioning.
This integrated approach promotes coherence between the technical studies and the reality on the ground, while strengthening the quality of the files submitted to customers and control bodies.
A rigorous approach to high-performance solar projects
The BGE Group is involved in a wide variety of photovoltaic projects: total self-consumption installations, full sale or self-consumption with resale of the surplus. In all cases, archelios solutions play a key role in objectifying decisions and making economic and technical simulations more reliable.
The teams particularly appreciate the quality of the product catalog integrated into the software, which simplifies the selection of modules, inverters and cables according to the latest brands. Regular updates ensure rapid adaptation to market developments.
This rigorous study is a major competitive advantage: each project is documented, traceable and defensible, whether technically or economically.
The quality of human and technical support
Beyond the functionalities, the BGE group also values the relationship established with the Trace Software teams. In particular, the company has benefited from personalized training, which is essential to master the full richness of the tools.
The BGE Group salutes the professionalism of the sales teams and the quality of the support, which support users in their skills development. This dynamic of co-construction is in line with the group’s philosophy: that of constant improvement in the service of energy efficiency.
Structuring solar growth around technical expertise
The BGE Group is fully convinced of the value provided by the archelios range. The company is continuing its development in solar energy with the same high standards that have made its reputation in electrical engineering: precision, safety and innovation.
” Photovoltaics is not an isolated activity for us. It is part of a global vision of the building’s energy performance,” concludes Laurent Guilbaud.
By relying on high-performance tools and a multidisciplinary team, the BGE Group illustrates how digitalization and technical mastery can transform a solar ambition into sustainable expertise.
