Trace Elec Pro > The Digital Mockup of your Installation
Trace Elec Pro deals with DWG files but its engine is based on a SQL type database. As a matter of fact, the design of an automation installation requires numerous processes using thousand of pieces of information. Those information can not be managed without loss of integrity with a software only capable of dealing with lines and attributes. With Trace Elec Pro the schematic is only a view of the installation stored into the database.
The Single Line Diagram view gives an overview of the installation.
The Schematic Diagram view gives information necessary to generate the documentation for production of the installation (terminals, wires, material…).
The Component Manager view contains the definition of all the equipment of the project, already included into the diagrams are not.
Whatever the view or the module you are using, data integrity, consistency and real time updating of documents is assured by the database server engine.
The whole project is stored into a SQL type database (SQL Server), from the symbols and lines of the diagrams to the complete equipment and cable descriptions. The schematic is therefore a view of the database. When using Trace Elec Pro you work in real time with the digital mock-up of your electrical or automation project.
There are several views or/and modules available all of them working with the same datas:
The Cable Synoptic view defines an overall view of the cabling. It defines the electrical links between the cubicles and the equipments.
The 2D layout describes the location of the equipment and the cubicles, the routes and allows to get the real length of the cables.
The Cabinet layout Module allows the design of the cabinet, the location of the equipment into the cabinet and the wires.
