New elecworks™ release to be announced and shown at SolidWorks World 2010
St Romain, France, January 21, 2010 - Trace Software International announced today that a new release of elecworks™ , its flagship electrical CAD software, will be presented at SolidWorks World 2010, from 31 January to 3 February, at Anaheim, in California (USA).
Elecworks™, the new electrical CAD software integrated to SolidWorks was launched last year at SolidWorks World 2009 and was received with great interest and curiosity. A pilot program had shortly followed successfully afterwards for all those from around the world who wanted to test this new tool and to join in its enhancement.
This year, elecworks™ is back with a new release that will be shown at SolidWorks World 2010. As a reminder, elecworks™ was initially conceived to facilitate collaboration between electrical and mechanical teams in better designing automation and electrical installation projects. It is ideally suited for designers, engineers and managers who want to integrate electrical schematic in their existing SolidWorks platform as a simple, easy to use and cost-effective add-on.
This new release includes new or enhanced features:
An improved automatic generation for PLCs has been added: from the equipment chosen in library, automatic drawings are generated with the possibility for the designer to add some information about I/O on each channel to be wired.
An additional major feature includes automatic routing and wiring within SolidWorks: no need to select one by one start and end point couples, this module does it automatically with optimization and shortest wire length calculation. This improvement saves wiring and mounting time and enables reliable panel mounting fitting.
This release provides also significant compatibility advantages such as the possibility to adopt or re-use existing SolidWorks assemblies as well as an integrated wizard to manage and cross-grade AutoCAD and AutoCAD electrical drawings.
All the new features are a direct result of listening to the pilots and customers' requirements. Pilots from more than 20 countries on all continents have taken part in this program and given their valuable feedback.
"What our clients need - and what Trace Software International is intent on delivering - is an easy yet powerful tool integrated to their existing platform to meet their needs in electrical design and produce their documentation in the same way as their mechanical projects with seamless interoperability and no learning curve" said Dr Pedro Puig, Managing Director of Trace Software International. "Electrical design can be completed on a unique database with real-time change capabilities enabling all users to make dramatic gains in efficiency and productivity."
Together with this new release, other breakthroughs have taken place to provide a more comprehensive support wherever the localization of elecworks™ users. Thus, a new Shanghai-based office has opened recently to deal with all sales and support matters for elecworks™ in China. Still focussing on services, a new website dedicated to elecworks™ was launched last December in English, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and Chinese offering an e-Content Portal section for elecworks™ users, in particular to share SolidWorks component libraries.
